GYM CUBS

Gym Cubs is our youngest class for Pre-team and is designed to accommodate boys between the ages of 3 and 5. Enrollment in this class is by invitation only. The goal of this program is to guide these boys in the direction of competitive gymnastics. Usually, any given boy will train with the Gym Cubs program for a year and then move up to Pre-Team the following year.

Classes meet once a week for 1 hour. The first 10 minutes are dedicated to strength and flexibility. The following 50 minutes are dedicated to skill acquisition on each of six different events: Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Still Rings, Vaulting Horse, Parallel Bars, and High Bar. We spend 10 to 15 minutes on each event. The last 5 minutes are reserved for specific conditioning (i.e. handstand strength or L seat holds on floor) and a few minutes to play.
